Hi, I’m Sharyn McCullum and I am the creator of this website/blog www.shazzatravels.com, thanks for stopping by and reading this About me page.

I have travelled most of my life thanks to my dad who worked for an airline. We would often spend school holidays in Hong Kong or Hawaii or New Zealand or …. The list is endless.

1987 saw my first overseas trip on my own. I had a bad day at work and resigned and then a month later I found myself at Heathrow Airport before embarking on my first organised tour, a Contiki tour of Europe – what a blast. But it didn’t stop there, I loved the tour so much I then went on one of Scandinavia.

After the tours, I stayed in the UK for 4 years on a working holiday undertaking different types of work, mainly office and child care based while travelling every few months, mostly to Europe.

I fell in to travel writing after a trip to Turkey. You see a magazine in London was looking for interesting travel articles and I thought to myself, I have just been to Turkey I will give it a go. And that effort was published and I earned 25 pounds. The travel writing bug had written.

I learnt all I could about travel writing and had many more articles published before finding a publisher for my LiveWork&Play working holiday series of travel guides.

My writing career took a siesta while I had kids but over the past couple of years I have woken up and started a number of travel websites/blogs including this one.

I hope you enjoy its content, and if you want to guest blog and want me to guest blog for you please get in contact: sharyn@liveworkplay.com.au

Happy travels! I may see you somewhere in the world!

PS: I also create a couple of working holiday websites – www.liveworkplaytravel.com and www.londonworkingholiday.com. I’d love you to visit them.
